Canine freestyle can be defined as "dancing with your dog." It is a relatively new dog
sport in which training, teamwork, music and movement are combined to create a
choreographed routine that shows the bond between the dog and handler, highlighting
their ability to work as a team.
FREE 102 - Beginning Line Dancing
FREE 103 - More Beginning Line Dancing
Prerequisite: FREE 102 or permission of instructor
Adding to the basic skills learned in Beginning Line Dancing, this class uses the line
dance to form to increase the foundation for other freestyle activities. The line dance
itself is more involved than the Basic Line Dancing class and the skill level of handler
and dog will be increased. The first week of class is held without the dogs so that the
handlers may learn the basics of the line dance. Starting with the second week, we will
teach the dogs the skills necessary for them to participate in the line dance with the
handler. All students will receive copies of the music and footwork sheets for at home
practice.
